Do I have to choose one evening or morning during the week for 9 holes of golf or can I golf at all the courses?
You can golf at all the courses and as often as you like. Some members golf a couple of times a week and vary where and when they play from one week to another. Simply call the CWGI course to book your tee time and show up to play. We make it easy…no foursomes to organize and there is always someone to golf with.

Do I pay green fees when I golf?
Yes, and only when you play. We provide a flexible affordable approach to playing golf. So, if you cannot play golf, you don't pay green fees. Women lead busy lives and need this flexibility. CWGI has preferred rates with some of the nicest courses in the area with a guaranteed schedule of tee-off times for members. The average green fee for 9 holes is $ 24. Green fees for 18-hole are more course dependent but average over the 30 courses we play during the season at approximately $35.

Do I have to be an experienced golfer to join?
No. CWGI is open to all levels of golfers, including women just taking up the game for the first time. We partner with women golf pros for clinics and lesson in the east and west areas of the region. We make it easy for members to work on their game with lots of golfing opportunities, lessons and clinics. A CWGI Member Coordinator represents CWGI at each game and welcomes and assists members in having an enjoyable golfing experience. Members who are new golfers can also participate in the CWGI Mentoring Program, where experienced members golf with new golfers to help them with etiquette and other tips on the golf course.

What about CWGI’s 18 hole weekday and weekend program?
If you are primarily interested in 18-hole golf you'll find lots of opportunities to play with us.  We offer 2-3 18-hole games during the week, one game each weekend and a game and dinner package on statutory holidays.  You pick and register for the games you want to play and experience the wonderful variety of courses available in the region. Again, you pay only when you play, play as often as you like and always have someone to play with!  Members register online for their 18-hole games and foursomes and tee times are organized for them.

How do I register for membership in CWGI?
To register, simply click on "Join Now" at the top of the web page. Once you have registered, your registration will be confirmed by return e-mail. E-mail communications with members about the season begins in February and is continuous throughout the season.

Will I play with someone different every time?
It’s up to you…you can come on your own and a course CWGI Member Coordinator will tee you off with other members or you can sign up with others, if you all want to play together.

When I come to play do I have to wait at the pro shop for someone who is at the same level of play as me i.e. an expert, intermediate or beginner?
If you wish you may play with other members of different golfing abilities. CWGI has a "golden rule" so all players, regardless of level, can play together. This is the way the "golden rule" works. If an expert and beginner are playing together and it is a par 3 hole and the beginner has taken 3 strokes and is only half way down the fairway (the expert will likely be on, or very close, to the green) they pick up their ball and place it on the green approximately 10 feet from the hole and putt out. (If it is a par 4 they will take four stokes before picking up their ball if it is not very close to the green and place it 10 feet from the hole on the green). On their card (if they picked up the ball on the fairway) they will count their strokes i.e. 3 on the fairway and say 3 on the green for a total of 6 but along with the 6 they will put a small "x". The goal for the beginner is to get rid of the "x's" by the end of the golf season. This way play is not held up, nor a beginner or expert discouraged from playing together. CWGI has been using the "golden rule" for many years with success. Of course, if you prefer to play with members at your level of golfing ability, that is possible too.

How long is the season?
The season starts at the beginning of May and ends at the end of September or later, depending on the weather. There is a Season Opener event at the beginning of May and a September Tournament & Banquet .
